Karyssa Austin
Hometown: Marine City, MI
Graduation Date: May 2021
My major is Accounting with Minors in Management, OPS and Business Analytics. I am on the Women’s basketball team as well, so aside from school I stay busy with that. I am very fortunate to have received the O’Keefe/Pretty Scholarship, it has helped to take some worries away when it comes to paying tuition. I have taken this scholarship as a way to better myself, since I am taking extra classes in order to earn 150 credits that will provide me with the opportunity to take the CPA exam. Thank you again for giving me such a generous opportunity in being successful.
Anna Martinez
Hometown: Grand Island, NY
Graduation Date: May 2020
My Major is Accounting with Minors in International Business & Management Information Systems. This scholarship means a lot to me. I am from out of state, so choosing Northwood over home schools came at a cost. This scholarship allowed that cost not be a determining factor on if I finished my studies at Northwood. It has allowed me to focus on my classes and leadership roles in clubs I am involved in. In my senior year I am the Michigan District’s Secretary of Circle K International, treasurer of the Honorary Accounting Society at Northwood University, a student ambassador for Becker Professional Education and a member of the international honor society Delta Mu Delta. I am very grateful to have received scholarships to help me become a future leader of a global, free-enterprise society.
Ricky Schroeder
Hometown – Saginaw, MI
Graduation Date: May 2022
My major is Accounting. I am a Resident Adviser on campus and also a part of the Men’s Varsity Soccer program. I am so grateful to be a recipient of the O’Keefe/Pretty scholarship. Through the generosity of my donors I am able to focus more on my studies and worry less about my debt. School is not cheap by any means and the great education that I am receiving through the Northwood community is backed by the kind acts of people like my donors who set examples for future generations to give back. This has inspired me to make it one of my biggest goals to be successful enough to give back financially once I become able to. This drives me to work harder in every aspect of life and I am ever so thankful for their generous investment in me. Thank you.
