Michael Petix is a Director, Corporate Finance at O’Keefe. He has spent his career finding, closing, and managing debt, equity and real property investments for restructurings, buy-outs and general corporate purposes. He has significant experience financing and working out distressed businesses in and out of bankruptcy. Mr. Petix develops deep corporate/sponsor finance and capital connections to leverage his and the O’Keefe networks and resources for capital raising engagements, M&A, restructuring, direct investment and performance/strategy consulting. Michael holds his Series 79 and 63 investment banking securities licenses to conduct transactions under FINRA regulation.
Prior to joining O’Keefe, Mr. Petix worked with Citizens Bank delivering lending solutions to intermediaries, private equity sponsors and corporate clients while managing Citizens’ Midwestern ABL product offering from 2010 – 2023.
Through his firm P-Tech Management LLC, founded in 2001, Mr. Petix has sourced and analyzed transactions to purchase performing and non-performing loans on self-storage, multi-family, hotels and senior living properties and worked with investors to close these purchases. P-Tech also managed the business development of “Rescue Equity” deals for a number of private equity groups, sourced through the lending and turnaround community during the Great Recession. Through P-Tech, Michael, operates properties and manages the direct investments it has made.
Mr. Petix opened and ran Michigan based corporate finance loan production offices for Bank of America, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and The CIT Group in Detroit. He has worked in new loan origination, underwriting, workout and portfolio management. Petix has also spent time in due diligence audit management with GE Capital and started out his career in internal audit for Dow Chemical. He has held positions where he focused on working with automotive suppliers, dealers of equipment and vehicles, metals business, distributors and domestic companies using European investment banking services.
Mr. Petix earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University and a BSBA degree with dual major in finance and accounting from Central Michigan University. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), member of the Commercial Finance Association (CFA), the Society of Automotive Analysts, the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
